Preventative Maintenance vs Repairing after a Disaster

Preventative Maintenance vs Repairing after a Disaster

Did you know that an estimated 90% of PC’s have malware of sorts and 1 in 5 Macs have malware. For those of you who don’t know what malware is, it’s a piece of software that you don’t want, it can either steal data or cause damage to data. It’s an general umbrella for the commonly misused word we all know, “virus”. Malware is one of the most common problems on PCs (and Macs), and just because you have an antivirus does not mean you’re immune from it.

While malware is the most common problem I see, it’s not the only one. Anything from accidental deletion, to wear and tear to a lack of general maintenance.

When you consider the cost of identity theft and data recovery, just like your car, it’s a good idea to have maintenance performed. You could pay $380/year to have an on call tech, and know your data is safe and secure or you could pay hundreds of thousands to recover from a disaster and spend countless hours of downtime or potentially lose precious data forever.
